Wordpress Installation and Setup
After being away from this site for some time now and a lot of careful deliberation, I’ve decided to start writing and adding valuable content once again.
I put up an article about a month ago, on copy writing, and I’m not really sure why!
Maybe something pushed me just enough to make me realize that I’ve missed writing for the home business side of the internet. Although I am not involved with any network marketing business right now and have no intention of doing so (I do still own my domain for Traverus Travel, but I’ve only left that live because I make a few dollars a day from Adsense), there is still a ton of knowledge which I can share with you and even more since new ventures over the last few months.
This knowledge can really help you, no matter what stage you are at in your business. From simple stuff like building websites, copy writing to keyword research, something which remained alien to me until I found a handful of experts and new mentors to teach me. So I’m going to share all this with you.
Something which I’ve not done for about six to eight months (without checking, I’m not sure exactly) is write any newsletters. So from today I’m also going to start writing a weekly newsletter, probably on a Saturday, bringing you as many tips and value packed content in my articles and newsletters on things like wordpress (starting today), keyword research, autoresponders, internet marketing and SEO. And a ton more.
Please, if you are interested in receiving my weekly newsletter, let me know what other subjects you would like me to cover and if Saturday suits you for the newsletter. Leave me a comment below and I’ll read them the same day.
In the meantime, subscribe to my eNews section at the top of this website so you’ll get notified right away of any new articles and if you’re not already, subscribe to get my newsletter to receive even more tips and updates. Remember, you’re privacy is key to my brand and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Ok, so where have I been and what have I been up to since my last newsletter? I just checked my Aweber account out of curiosity (this is the email service I use to send my newsletters) and my last one was near enough, exactly six months ago. It does seem a lot longer!
So, where have I been? Nowhere, other than right here working like a mad man, but not making videos, tweeting or anything to do with social media marketing or network marketing.
My life completely changed when my daughter arrived last April. I can’t believe she is going to be a year old soon. She is the true light of my life. Although she’s not been the best at night times, making for tired daytimes for me, she has given me a strength which if you’re not a dad, you have no idea how this feeling can affect you. It is truly amazing. I’ve opted to take care of her for a few days a week, while my partner goes to work, which leaves me evenings and the rest of the week to work.
But I felt the need to shift my focus from business building and team work, to internet marketing for personal reasons and this is now where I make my home on the web!
Ok, back to business.
I’ve been flat out building affiliate and Adsense websites. ALL wordpress, including a few blogs. (There is a difference, which I will cover in later articles) And instead of generating my income from service affiliate products and MLM, 99% of my income now comes from affiliate products and Google Adsense income.
So, I’m going to build a new website based around dog health and the affects of commercial dog food has on a canines health. I’m passionate about dogs, I lost both mine just before my daughter was born and it concerns me about how the commercial dog food which I fed them pretty much all their lives affected one of them.
And I’m going to show you everything I do to build this site, show you the tools which I use (that save me a ton of time and money!) and the keyword research included.
You will be able to apply the same principles, knowledge and training that I am going to show you to any website.
So today on the first video we’ll cover the basics of setting up a Wordpress site. If you already know how, then I doubt I’m going to show you anything new. If, however you have no clue where to start with wordpress, then watch closely and I’ll show you step by step.
The video is split into two parts as it ended up being too long for one.
Video 1 – Setting up mysql database at your hosting account, downloading files from Wordpress.org and installing them.
Video 2 – Editing wp config file (my guess is that its this part that put’s most people off using Wordpress!), final installation of files and set up site so it goes live.

Hi Andy! Wow! Can’t believe it’s almost been a year already since you’ve had the baby. It’s good to see you back writing again. I look forward to seeing what you’re up to.
The last year has flown by! Alera is almost a year, she’s almost crawling, but more shuffling on her bottom. Standing un-aided is just around the corner. It’s a fantastic time.
